hi guys :) ok i shall follow jia min's gd example and post often.
here is a very BIG problem that we'v been trying to avoid for so long: WHAT IS OUR BATCH NAME?
ok so here are some suggestions i got frm some dictionaries :)
- banda - a instru for mexican music?
- bandage
- band-aid
- bandanna/bandana (whateva spelling)
- Bandar Seri Begawan - a country haha XD
- bandbox - a box made of cardboard used to hold hats?
- banded
- banderilla - something used for those spanish ppl that play with bulls??
- banderillero - the spanish ppl who play with bulls (i know play is not the right word but i don't know any other words that can describe it accurately)
- banderole/banderol - a small flag used for a purpose (which i don't know)
- bandersnatch - imaginary wild animal of fierce deposition
- bandfile - to file with a file band on a band miller or band saw
- bandgap - (don't understand go check it urself)
- bandha - (check it urself!)
- bandit
- banditry -.-
- bandleader (this is lame :P)
- bandmaster
- bandog - a chained dog??
- bandoleer/bandolier - a belt used for holding cartridges
- bandore - a type of instru
- bandoline - (nope i don't understand the definition go check it out urself)
- bandon - short form of abandon (i think)
- bandoneon - another type of instru
- bandoneonist - (self-explanatory)
- bandora/bandore - another type of instru that resembles a guitar
- bandsaw - a type of saw (duh)
- bandshell - a sounding board??
- bandsman - a musician who plays in a band -.-
- bandstand - a platform for band performances
- bandtail - a type of pigeon
- bandung - a city in indonesia
- bandura/bandurria - another instru -.-

- bandwidth - data transfer capacity of a network?
- bandy - (a lot of definitions for this one)
and...i'm done! :D WOOTs my vocabulary had just gone from limited to less limited. haha XD ok i think there are still some more BAND- words so if anyone find anything else, pls post it on this blog thx a lot :D

Suggested date for the bbq
Okay... So now we don't know what date to have the bbq thing on right? Anyway, Jia Min, yeah I think your suggestion is good. :D Let's just fix it on
13th June (5pm) it's ok if not eveyone can make it. Well, so long as there is more than 6 of us, that is. For the food items, here are some suggestions (if you were wondering what to bring):
- Chicken wings
- Fishballs
- Satay (yum!) :)
- Fried Bee Hoon/ fried rice
- sausages
- paper plates, cups etc Thengyi:) Jiamin can you email me the number of people who have confirmed that they are going? Thanks loads;D
- fruits (?)
- Marshmallow :D
- Corn (jagong)
Yup, what we're missing is DRINKS! And guess who is bringing the drinks? It's none other than ME! Haha... :) lol. yes I am so lame. But anyway,
you want to approach the batch outing with a...whatjya call that... force-something? Bet that didn't make sense to all of you (I make lots of bets.) Oh never mind. Skip this. (I bet you already did)
ANYWAY,
I meant, would you all like one person to just come up with a date and arrange everything and then if can come then come, cannot then don't? Because I'm starting to feel it's Mission Impossible for me to come up with a date EVERYONE can come...because if I choose one date over the other, the people who cannot make it think I'm pian1 xin1, and vice versa...
So. Well.Just to make things more organised, (i.e. wasting time (both mine and yours))

Today is the last day of May! 5 months in RGS + Approx. 3 months in Band?
Our attendance as a batch isn't very comforting, I assure you. (Is there any cause for assurance?)
But anyway... I really hope everyone will come. I bet we've only had 0/1 times we had full attendance. It would be nice we can have a full batch attendance maybe... for now... at least thrice a month...that really wouldn't be much. But it's a start. Starting from July, since you all so lucky have lots and lots of holidays. I'm cooped up at home. (Makes me sound like a chicken)
What else? Should we copy seniors? Based on one of our history notes, there was this person who learnt from others' failures or something and he was very good at war. Not that this is a war. (then again, maybe it is) See? Now I'm having internal war. But anyway, they have the following:
1) Batch Diary (Diaries, actually. They have two I think)
2) Batch Bonding (Daily or something) (They basically meet up at the batch corridor every morning, if not certain mornings)
3) Batch Outings (They have had: going to the beach (just for fun. no barbeque or anything), going chalet, Amazing Race, going to someone's house, etcetc.)
I guess we do have about 3.5 years left. Maybe you think we'll have a lot of time, but time passes really quite quickly. And we'll have more experience in a way. Learn from our failures in organisation and so on. (Linked to the history-note-note-thing) Haha. Poor reason.
The main reason is for us to HAVE FUN (TOGETHER)!

i'v given up on finding a good enough blogskin that hav something to do with band.... -.- so somebody pls!!! teach me how to make a blogskin!! :D if not i shall ask yu jia. haha that's highly unlikely XD
ok since our blog doesn't hav links i shall post the links of our seniors' blog here. and when we finally get a gd enough blogskin i shall transfer.
go and visit them if u hav time! :D i felt very xian so i went to skim through every post in the sec 4 blog and a bit of the sec 3 blog. haha XD it was actually quite fun because u get to discover another side of our seniors...the FUN side :D
i'm not sure whether u guys feel the same way but the seniors in band (most of them, anyways) seem very scaryy and anti-sociable. but actually...if u look at their blogs, they'r not. they'r just like us actually.
and looking through their blogs, i'v discovered that they are veryy bonded and holds a lot of batch outings (look at the sec 4s! :O) and i feel very......guilty.
it's the june holidays now and jia min had suggested a batch outing. yet there is very little response. and it's really saddening. why can't we be as bonded as our seniors? we'r only sec1s and still hav quite a light workload compared to our seniors and yet they can sacrifice more of their time bonding then us. why can't we do the same?
so, please, RESPOND! :D

ahaha jia min i'm finally posting i hadn't been posting coz i couldn't be bothered to remember the username and password (which i'v finally remembered -.-)
omg a car accident just happened outside my window :O
ok anyways, hmmm i shall post about *drum rolls* BAND!!
ahh me is so lame... ._.
so, how do u guys find band? i personally look forward to tues and thurs band (most of the time). dread sectionals (guilty for not doing much hw...ahhh i'm scared of getting scolded by my directs -.-). i think the whole playing as a band part is really cool B-)
i can't wait to perform!! when's our first performance???
don't u think the seniors are very pro? i feel very small when i watch them play :( CADENZA was AWESHUM!!! :D (agree with me! XD) ahh i'm scared of joining main band...i'll probably screw up everything x.x
oh, btw, did u guys know that once we join main band, each person will get a godmother (one of our directs)? i heard that frm a band senior. haha isn't that cool? i alr know who i want as a godmother ^^
i wonder how band camp will be like.........too bad we are not staying overnight :(

Batch Outing
Hi all,
Please, on Tuesday, do you'll mind coming about 30 minutes earlier? So we can discuss the details? And discuss how, in future, we are going to plan events and communicate, because:
1. Not every one is replying to my emails.
2. Not every one is looking at the blog.
3. And of couse, as a result of 2, barely anyone is posting on the blog.
4. Not every one even receives my emails, apparently, as brought up. On Tuesday, I'll pass around paper. Write your email neatly, ok? So I can send properly.
5. Mostly it's that it's not THAT easy to communicate freely between 21 people. But wouldn't that be great? So I hope you all won't mind the mail filling up your inbox, causing it to drown in the mails and eventually...what happens? Dies?
Lastly, I would like everyone to take this seriously. Don't not go because you are too lazy. The holidays are really a time for us to bond as a batch. Before it's too late! Or will it ever be? But well, I guess it's the closest we can ever get before the subsequent years whereby we'll supposedly get busier!

Hi all,
Would you all like to have a barbeque at 5pm at my house's barbeque pit + multi-purpose room on the 6/13th of June? You can bring games to play or swimsuits since the pit is next to the swimming pool. Everyone please bring something we need to have a successful barbeque. It will be quite crowded, but , well. Well. Is anyone willing to book their pit? If you have no barbeque pit, please reply to the email with your preference of date, and what food you are bringing. I think Kylie, if it is within your capacity, I'm sure everyone won't mind a blogskin you deem suitable. If strong disagreements arise, they can send you mail, instead of them sending you the kind they like. It would be rather hard to decide that way. The decision lies in your hands. Haha. Great responsibility, eh? Oh, we are in lack of a tagboard. And many other stuff. But I don't know how to create them. Someone help please? Thanks.

This blog was created on 19 May 2010. Way later than it should have been, but it should suffice. This will be used as a form of communication as well as something we have in common as a batch. Sort of batch bonding. Feel free to post posts here. And please, someone with good knowledge of blogs please help to change the template, include tagboard, add our instrument info and stuff along the side of the blog or something. I don't know how to.
