Hello! How was last Tuesday's band?? Did anyone miss me???? (This sounds so cheesy ._.)

i felt kind of random and plus, i haven't really been posting recently, so...here I am~:)
Okay, I know lots of people have posted about band camp, so I will not do so as well, what's the point of reposting something that happened? Okay, so yep jiamin raised the issue of FAREWELL'10:(
So, Sec4s are leaving in August, which is only 1 more month away~ Which is real sad. But we have to decide what we want to perform/do anything to say goodbye to our seniors right? Hmm we don;t really have lots of time, since next month we have exams as well, sigh. Do you all think we have to meet up or we can just catch some time in between band pracs to discuss the THING we are going to do for Farewell'10. So far, "THING" is still undefined huh? If we want to do something nice, I suggest we better do something quick or we will lose lots of precious time, since we only have ONE MONTH. maybe we can apply what we learnt in Jive lessons perhaps. But I don't want to dance! I think jiamin's idea is okay, but we must decide and confirm. Checking out pending options will seriously take up lots of time, so we can perhaps discuss this on the next band practice, or online, or using whatsoever form of communication. (P.S. we really need to decide on a permanent form of communication) AH.

Today was fun. But lots of troubleshooting. Troubleshooting and the computer (in this case me) failed to be fixed. But I'll work on it. But anyway.

I was thinking we could someone thank Mr Goh soon, though I have a feud against him. It's only right to be thankful for all he has taught us, I guess. No matter what we think of him, he has definitely changed us in one way or another (hopefully good) and we should be grateful for that. Yes. If you don't want to sound too cheesy or anything, you could always wish him the best for his future endeavours or something. :)

So what do you all want to do? A batch card? Any gifts? COMMENT! :)

Yo! First post on this blog. I feel so terrible ._.

haha the title is so random XD i wanted to put "band camp :)" but i thought a lot of ppl hav alr used it as a title so i decided not to XD

I shall be the first to post about bandcamp :D don't you think it was fun?? :D awesome!!

Hmmm, stationgames was...ok...same group as Thengyi! And drum major(gosh) and another sec4 and another sec2! Actually it was the best part of camp :D the straw tower was the BESTT~ ours was super stable AND taller than the other group's :) muahahahaha (i am mean.) and the goldfish/egg/piranha/shark/whale/somethingsomethingdunnowhat as so fail, I kept switching between egg/goldfish/piranha bleh. So sad :( Thengyi got everything!!! WOW. And the pingpong ball one was super fun too, but the other group copied our idea at the 3rd round so we got a draw haiz. The bestest part was when we WON! haha :) of course it's the best part, gotfree toblerones leh :DDDDDDD

Oh, yes, our cheer (Elvis Presley!) was the best!! :D some ROCK ON thing which was super funny ^^ then Elvis comes in with this silly hair flick and strumming of guitar :)

Erm, then we had batch bonding, and we played double whacko (as an ICEBREAKER not a GAME) then we broke up into sections and Clara and I were being rescued from eternal loneliness (????) by the percussion and trumpets and we talked about band, blahblah, etcetc. Then we played Cat and Mouse haha :) sabo time ^^

Then what?? oh yeah, section bonding gasp. There were only 4 of us, so we went from band stuff-> schoolwork->GPAs->random stuff->stoning. haha :P wuliao. :/

Then musical chairs and charades! so fail, got kicked out in the second round for musical chairs ohwell. Then i dunno how to act for charades so crappy :P blehs.

ok, that was all :D have a happy holiday while i spend mine overseas :D (muahaha gloating so much lol) ok, seriously have fun!! ^^

Yay for today. Band camp was fun! Hip hip hooray to us.

So we started with station games. Haha. Our group cheer was totally random.

Haha. Anyway. Then we had lunch, then direct bonding. I guess I have things to say, just don't want to say them. Not so nice. Especially about my impression about our RB C. Hmm. Sad. Never mind. It was comforting to hear that our directs' experiences weren't all smooth sailing. (No I'm not being sadistic. Though I am rather sadistic. Make it VERY sadistic.)

Then we had section bonding. We stone a lot. Don't know what to talk about. But we were asked what we wanted to achieve through band. Actually I've never really thought about it. And compared to my class blog. I think it's kind of important to know what we want to takeaway from band. So we will work towards something, for sometimes it's sad when you work so hard and you don't know what for, and sometimes it's difficult to work hard when you don't know what you're working for. Maybe one of our batch outings we could talk about this solemn topic. But essential. An important element for success is to know exactly what is this success you are talking of, in other words, your goal.

I think today was very fun. Not a lot of batch bonding, but still fun. I got to interact with the other sections and other levels in RGSSB, and that just makes me love RGSSB all the more!

From what I see, our batch blog is very much active compared to the others. Apparently blogger has this new template designing thing, one of which you could have a picture as a background. Suggestion: Try as best as possible to take a full batch photo somewhere and sometime. So, when and where? Are we allowed to take in band room before Mr Goh comes? Or is that slacking? But if we spend 5 minutes without quarreling or anything that should be fine right? Because it's nicer with our instruments. :)

And if you all want a batch outing in September it's never too early to start planning! Or else less than 1/3 of the batch will come again. Maybe not a barbeque this time? Chalet we need some money. Amazing race? We'll need people to organise. Some music concert? Camp? The more ideas I come up with, the more un-feasible they are. So suggest some. :) Or shall I have another voting thing? Quite a lot of people have voted I think. About half? and a bit more. And it's the same people blogging. People come post! Before our blog becomes dead. Actually I don't know of any blogs that are both alive and useful. I think this blog will be useful mostly in the next few years, to track our personal growth together with our batch.

And what do you'll think of the bonded-ness of the batch? I think there can be quite some improvement. Of course we'll seek improvement in everything, though. Tell me what you'll think!

Today, I'm posting something cos' I just feel random! Haha. :) Maybe not. Maybe it's partly beacause I have some things to say today, or maybe it's beacause I haven't posted for a long, long time (oops, me is GUILTY! :-o)...
Anyway, first, I wanna talk about the bbq, which was like, two days ago?? Yeah, I know, I am a bit late, aren't I? Lol. ;D We had such a fun time you know! Thank you Jia Min for organising it and letting us use your place and everything! It was great! :) Oh, and help me thank your mum too, for cooking the food too; I loved her bee hoon (and I know everyone else did too!). I kinda enjoyed the swimming part. Wait, no, correction, I totally enjoyed swimming! Well, it could have been better, cos' we kept on being harrassed by an irritaing boy (Yeah, Jia Min, I read ur post, so I am not going to call him crazy or phsycho) who insulted us many times. :( Boo hoo. Then later, when we thought he had left, we continued playing our own fun games (like monkey, which I was a failure in). BUT, to our utmost surprise (and disappointment), he came back again!!! This time, we decided to ignore him, and thought that maybe, just maybe, he would go away. But nonono! He just kept on following us wherever we went, and he even started splashing water at us (even though he knew my contact lenses would come out!)!!! :-( We were totally annoyed by then, so we splashed back at him, only a little bit, and that's when trouble started... He suddenly became very angry and strangled me until I pulled his hand off (Its's such a good thing I am quite strong, or else I would have died! Argh... Okay, maybe not.). That was not all! He continued boxing me and hitting me, and thank goodness his brother (an angel) was there and shouted at him to stop, because, after all, it was he who started it...
After that, I seriously didn't feel like swimming anymore, so everyone went down to bathe and change. Then, we had dinner! Yummy! Bbq was awesome! :D I liked the roast marshmallows, and the fishballs! Haha. :) Guess what, the irritating guy in the pool was there too, but amazingly, he was not who he was in the pool... It was like he had transformed into an 'angel'!!! He was suddenly very quiet, and did not insult us much. :) After dinner, we played super fun games! ;D Like grounders, and truth or dare. I enjoyed both games very much, but I think I preferred grounders better, cos' I was the only one who did not get caught at all! :) Yay. Okay, enough talk about the bbq, I'm now going to talk about today... ;D
Today's direct taking was quite ok, and now I even think I like direct taking a little better than before, cos' I realised that our directs are actually quite nice to us, and they are not as mean as they seemed at the beginning of the year... :) Lol. In fact, I think they are quite funny sometimes! :) Sorry, I don't know why I keep using exclamation marks today, maybe it's because of the way I write it... Anyway, our directs gave us chocolates from overseas. So nice right? :) Haha. The chocolate was really chewy though; it kept on getting stuck in my teeth. Oh ya, and you know what? We (Joyce, Jenny, Sarah and I) even went out to buy gifts for our directs! We took a super long time, like 2 hours plus... :) But, it was worth it, cos' I know our directs will be pleased, and that's what I like! ;D Anyway, I can't wait for band camp on thursday! :)

I'm not sure what you'll think of my opinion, but I'll say it for all my worth. Please don't take offence, though, if you find any of my remarks offensive, though I'll try to mute the very strong feeling I have about this issue.

Today when we were playing our parade of wooden soldiers piece, you-all-should-know-who compared the blasting of the brass instruments, or something we played wrong, I forgot what, to someone who "kenna Down Syndrome" or he made a comment about something along that line. Somehow it was taken as a joke and some people were laughing. I personally don't find anything funny about it, but I wouldn't mind if you do, just that we should be aware of the fact that it really isn't anything to laugh about. In fact, it's almost like we were Charlie Gordon when we saw the dishwasher. I am not comparing the dishwater to the children/adults affected by Down Syndrome, by the way.

Just to clarify, Down syndrome is a chromosomal disorder caused by the presence of all or part of an extra 21st chromosome. It is named after John Langdon Down, the British physician who described the syndrome in 1866. The disorder was identified as a chromosome 21 trisomy by Jérôme Lejeune in 1959. The condition is characterized by a combination of major and minor differences in structure. Often Down syndrome is associated with some impairment of cognitive ability and physical growth, and a particular set of facial characteristics. Down syndrome in a fetus can be identified with amniocentesis during pregnancy, or in a baby at birth.
Individuals with Down syndrome tend to have a lower than average cognitive ability, often ranging from mild to moderate developmental disabilities. A small number have severe to profound mental disability.

So I really don't see the link between whatever we played wrong and those affected by the syndrome. I have no idea why I feel so strongly about this, but I would like to sincerely apologise if I have somehow made my point too strongly.

Oh and one more thing. I don't think it's fair to demean someone for strangling you or something if you have done something wrong which offended him/her in any way. I don't know about words can never hurt me, and the sticks and stone won't break my bones thing, but I think everyone will have a reason why he/she does what he/she does. It could very well be an assumption, or a wrong one, but nonetheless, he/she will have his/her reasons and I don't think it's nice to talk about the incident behind their backs or spread rumours. Thank you.

"Dong Di" was super fun!!!! Haha. Firstly, thanks Jiamin for organising the awesome batch bbq. Your parents really worked hard to cook for us! Loved the fishballs and the satay! GAH CLARA I STILL REMEMBER YOU FORCING ME TO FINISH MR PRINGLES. I wonder if I will swear off pringles because of yesterdays incident. HAHA. PRANK CALL~
Psycho boy was really hilarious, but I was kinda pissed at him for bullying us. Haha that was the one time i was from "Pei Hua". But he turned out to be an "angel" out of water. That was really weird. But he was okay actually. But luckily we still got to swim cos' of the good weather in the evening~ Spraying down, or rather, "Littering" water, was super fun! I wonder if anyone got hit by our crazy water shooting...I was an EPIC FAILURE during monkey ;p I was practically monkey for 3/4 of the game.
AHH~ Looking forward to band camp that's coming up soon eh!:) I wonder what it'll be like.

Clara, in relation to your first post: Hmph, the fishballs were NICE. Although they DID stink up my fridge. And it's grounders, not rounders:)

BBQ!!!!! even though it was raning at first. It started at 2 then it stopped at 3+ then it started again and totally dampened my moods...but then it stopped!!! Hallelujah! And we went to swim... Clara was taking pictures, though I dunno whether she took any. I will post them up soon :D Now no time, going out later :) and the a-little-bit-mentally-corrupted-boy was trying to get in front of Kylie's water gun and was trying to get sprayed...and we ignored him until dunno when. And we were making many sarcastic remarks abt mental hospitals and HCI and RI and being boys :P so funny haha :) then we played monkey and Joyce and I were owning the game :D and Kylie and Thengyi were the monkeys almost always :) throwing the water gun was so fail lah, I literally broke my thumb :(

Then the bbq itself was YUM! I love the chickenwings <3 and roasting marshmallows was FAIL so JiaMin's mom had to help us =.=" taiwanese sausage ftw yumyum!!! The jelly was ok even though I dropped half of mine on the mat so I had to throw it into the dustbin in the toilet=.=" Then Truth or Dare was AWESOME even though there were only, like, 2 dares and 1 truth. Then Grounders was so fun~ And I was the catcher most of the time. Sheesh. I totally suck. I even broke the thumb of the same hand AGAIN. And now it's swollen *sob sob* I wish it wasnt raining. Then I didn't need to fall down the slide and hit my thumb against one of the poles.

Anyway, all in all it was FUN~ thanks Jia Min for using your condo's bbq and swimming pool! Haha :D

Band on Tuesday *haiz* ! Then indiv (which is still ok yay!). Band camp on Thursday *half sigh half yay* what will we be doing during band camp, I wonder???? :) so sad we're not staying overnight...

Hi all.

Yay! Today we had our first batch outing. Less than 1/3 of the batch came, though. Kylie, Joyce, Xin Ying, Clara, Theng Yi. But we still had lots of fun.

We swam, but everybody was too pro. For me, that is. And then we ate the stuff. Turns out our appetite is quite large. A lot of food was eaten up. Yay for us! (we seriously need some batch name). Instead of the the "us" in the earlier sentence, I was almost planning to type RGSSB Batch XIII. But too wordy. But anyway.

Then we played Truth or Dare, the contents of which we shall not reveal for fear of discovery and the unknown that will follow. Then we played "dong di".

I would consider it a success for a 6 person outing, though I'm sure it'd have been more fun if we had more than half the people, if not the whole batch. For this, I have nothing to blame but my not-so-good planning. Should have planned before June holidays, I guess. Another one in September? Or earlier?

HEY BATCH XIII~
Haha, I am finally posting again because I felt kinda bored and partly because i am deceiving myself with failure that my History PT is not all that important. Okay, that was random, okay, but still...
Hehe though band was kinda long in terms of prac hours for this hols, and i peeled my skin (it was gross) but I kind of enjoyed it. I kept messing my time signatures up on On My Own, but my senior helped me learn a really difficult part~ Okay, so the bbq is LATER!:) Looking forward~ But its really disappointing that some people don't even come to the blog (tsk tsk) and i can see lots of people are really really active, which is great! I 'll try to come to the batch blog more often to help.
Looking forward to band camp too! Wonder how it'll be like. Probably there will be practices too huh? But i'm crossing my fingers that there will be something fun or different. Well, at least I hope so...
GAH I have my Rome book open in front of me but i'm just really lazy to finish reading, reading about emperors being killed isn't really my type of thing to read about. My determination at the start of the year to finish my PT early kind of "dissipated" after the first week. Not to mention my friend already finished it. Argh. Okay this is turning into a History PT rant so I shall just leave now. :(

I'm not sure now, but perhaps later in the future, we may meet with setbacks, hurdles we have to jump over, and sometimes we may have to meet with the supposed failure, where we fall, where we are unable to jump over the hurdles successfully. But the real failure is never to fall, but not being able to pick yourself up and try again, not being able to realise what went wrong, not having the sufficient courage to try again, instead fearing the unknown. Like Iceman or something...Okay Iceman's lame, but I could help to bring some board games, like The Game of Life or Cluedo etc. So I think games could be put up for discussion:)
