Haha. Stalking RGSSB. Googling it.
Did you know that the RGSSB Batch 2007 also played Parade of the Wooden Soldiers? And they have same nametag colour as us!
Haha. Actually there are a lot of pages; lazy to go through all... but I wasted 1.5 hours doing this. *insert swear word* *insert swear word* *insert swear word*

Encouragement for Life
Sunday, September 19, 2010
Since Thengyi has provided encouragement for EYAs, I shall provide for life. Haha. Actually thengyi did for life too, but still.
"God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are."
Not meant to be fully understood, nor meant to be religious. I don't believe in God anyway. But yeah, I think the quote does help, that right will always prevail. This quote is meant to reinforce your belief in pursuing your dreams and doing what is right.
"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. "
READ TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD.
"There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle."
Believe. Believe in good. Believe it will always triumph over evil. Believe.
"It's just one of those days Where I just want to disappear, To get away from everything, Because I hate my life here. Dying seems less sad than having lived too little. "
May seem sad, even depressing, but 'tis just a reminder for you to live your life to the fullest.
Is it a good idea to get a batch tee/hoodie/clothing article, like, now? Because there may be new members along the way and we can't guess how many there might be and T-shirt companies seldom make T-shirts like, just one T-shirt in one order, so...?

ENCOURAGEMENT FOR YOU~~
Thursday, September 16, 2010
HEY BATCH 13:)
Anyway, here's a short post to encourage all of you for EYAs and also, jiayou for practices towards Inunion. :) Like myself, I believe all of us are worried about Inunion, and also for the upcoming EYAs. :O
Anyway, a quote for you,
"When you come to the end of the rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt
I know it must be tough for everyone, rushing with all the homework, and studying in between your free time, but jiayou kay! We only have about a month till we're free of worry over exams. At least, for this year. :) So let's just work hard and work towards our goals for this very last milestone in Year One, and it is, and will be an ABSOLUTELY unforgettable year, and I'm sure we have our own reasons for that, be it having fun with your classmates, spending time in school together etc. etc. So since its the last, why not work hard for it?
Okay anyway since Devni recorded our practice for "Stand By Me", and um, it wasn't that up to standard, with quite a lot of squeaks and stuff, but since I think everyone's playing will contribute to the end result of our music, everyone plays a part to improve on our playing. I'm sure if we buck up, have a positive attitude and practice properly in band sessions, we will be able to improve faster, and do well for the upcoming Inunion as a batch. :D Another quote for you;
Adversity is the first path to truth --Lord Byron
:) Jiayou for everything! XD

Just remembered was supposed to tell EVERYONE what the commanders told us today. So this is all I can remember (not very much, unfortunately)
1. On the oh-so-controversial matter of blogs and censorship. We are to maintain the reputation of the band by foremostly blogging with respect and even admiration towards other bands. Or at least equality (...build a democractic society, based on justice and EQUALITY...). Since, as they mentioned, every school trains as hard for all the competitions; just that the nature of competitions finds a need to proclaim a winner; hence a hierachy of bands AT THAT POINT IN TIME, from which we have no way whatsoever, and no right to comment on the standard of that band, and in comparison to ours.
2. On the multi-perspective matter of respect for seniors. They expressed that we may not be able to appreciate this respect for seniors in band yet, but they have, and they believe we will too. While different seniors may have different expectations as to your respect towards them, we should nonetheless treat them with as much as we can, and of course, they have provided the assurance (with 16 people as witnesses) that they WILL treat you with that same amount of respect, if not more.
3. On the matter of Inunion. They have expressed that Inunion is our official investiture into band and we should try to make it our top priority for that day (as in, if you have holidays that have not been scheduled or booked yet, try your best not to let it fall on that day). We should also work very hard because we only have 1 month after the band break to prepare for this performance and one month is NOT A LOT. 1 month = 4 weeks = 4 (3 practices) = 4 ( 2 x 3 hours) = 24 hours. JUST A DAY. IMAGINE THAT.
4. On the matter of SYF. They have expressed that SYF is an important event and that we should try our best, especially since we, Sec 1s, have a 1/3 (or 33.3%) stake in the sound quality of the band, which is A LOT. It's like we are one of the Powerpuff Girls or something like that. XD Anyway, so we are doing this not to prove to others that we are better, but to prove to ourselves that we CAN get whatever we set our minds to, to prove band's significance to you, and also to avoid regrets for all the things we did not do should we not get what we expected. I went to SYF for both band and ballet. Quite stressful. That year the band I was in got silver. It was a rather sad affair because for the past about 5 months the conductor had been telling us to work harder and harder, scolding us, and so on, and most of us DID try to some extent to play properly. However, it was agreed, it wasn't our best. We were told we were too complacent. Just because our past seniors had done the school and themselves proud by achieving gold two times in a row does not mean that that gold medal is waiting for us, and we don't have to do anything to get it. It DOES take effort. And that can only be seen from ACTION, not words. It was under such circumstances that the band major that year cried, and other people too, if I remember correctly. I had only been there for about 1 year, so perhaps I did not feel that much intensity in feeling, but still I could realise that I could have done much better, worked harder, and so on. Haha. So long.
5. Seniors will try their best to support us in any way possible.
6. Hehheh. I kinda forgot... anyone care to help me continue???

Today is a random day.
Haiz...I seem to keep forgetting the username and password, thus for the lack of posts T.T unlike ppl like Jenny and Jia Min 0.o I prefer my own blog! Going to change the blogskin soon! AGAIN! Ok going out of point.
Are we going to get batch hoodie? Cos it's like really rush and anyways we have 3 long years in front of us 0.o so it's ok if we take longer to decide :) unlike class tee or smth similar yah :) btw I like Devni's picture on fb! Go see, you should be listed somewhere if you have fb :)
Ohoh, today is me and Clara's first actual proper 'direct-taking' session :) it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. Which was great! :D And I learnt the Centurion thing today! Which is SYNCOPATED OFF BEAT haiz :'( lala~ I not good at that. Boomz. And today I forgot that we changed our batch-corr and I nearly walked up the stairs leading to our old corr. Hehe xD I'm so muddleheaded at times (;
I hope I didn't post negative comments and such. Really sorry if I did, it would be unintentional! >. xinying!

To batch xiii (most probably bandemonium(: ):
today i learnt that when we are sec 2, we get to clap (as in like clap the rhythm). when we are sec 3, we get to conduct. and when we are sec 4, we get to play other people's instrus! BO i still don't really understand why we are banned from clapping but i think this is quite cool...it's like the giver, u get new things every year xD
and woohoo we changed our commands! xD i like the command "yes". the way the sec 2s said it was damn cool, it sounded more like "yos" BO
and i miss our previous batch corr T.T it had such a nice scenery T.T
today i also received my first set of main band score! *excited* THE CENTURION by PHILIP SPARKE BO I’m playing 3rd clarinet with qian hui and kylie while sarah and joyce are playing 2nd(:
to all seniors stalking our blog (haha xD):
I’m the one who wrote the post including the part about talking about inunion during the band camp. ZOMG I’m sorry! x.x I realise how disrespectful that sounds now)): sorry don’t get mad at me):
To my sbms:
Erm…I think we should show more consideration towards other people’s feelings yo. If one of us is lagging behind us we as sbms shld understand and try to help her to the best of our abilities. We shouldn’t complain about how slow she is (even if u don’t say it in front of her) because it’s not her fault. And we shouldn’t keep on pointing out that person’s bad points (at least not in that direct and rude way) and even if we are exasperated and fustrated with her we must not show it. Imagine urselves in her shoes, how would u feel when u know u’r the lousiest and even ur sbms turn their backs on u and make u feel even more inferior? And I don’t want to wait until she breaks down (or even quit band O.O) to start regretting not having been there for her like sbms shld.
Yupps that’s all(:

YO guys! i'm supperrr excited nowwwww((((((:
i can't wait to start practicing our syf piece: The Bells of Sagrada Familia!! haha i know it's tremendously long but even if i die halfway i'll die a happy clarinetist to hav been able to play this piece. it's really nice~ i have been listening to it for a long long long time to the point that i'm alr quite sick of it but just can't stop myself frm pressing the repeat button again (ask clara, she knows :P) xDD
and it's composed by the same person who composed perseus: satoshi yagisawa(:
as u can see by the website, perseus' grade is 5 while the bells of sagrada familia's grade is 3.5 which is quite :/ but it still sounds nice ok(:
and i'm still quite confused....do we go for main band prac frm now on?
heehee i can't wait to receive the main band scores(((:

A True Story.
Saturday, September 11, 2010
Hey mua darling peeps.
I LoVE YOu!!!¡!!!¡!!!¡!!!
Omg.
I don't know what got over me.
So AnYwAy,,, this is a true story:
The Tenor Saxist (okk that came out wrong, I shall rephrase!!)……
The Tenor Sax player glances out the window and sighs. Honestly, she thinks, is there anything better to do than do homework ( and facebooking, and tweeting, and surfing the net, and well, alot of other things ) in this world??! She sighs, again, and (did I mention she was in the bathroom??!) ( and yes, she DOES have a window in her bathroom, ahem ahem, which, well, faces a wall :) ) sighs, again. School was going to reopen the next next day and she was feeling a bit (no, let me change that, TREMENDOUSLY) scared of that huge pile of undone worksheets smiling at her from her study table every time she goes into her room, which, she was pretty sure, most of her batch mates faced too :P. She shudders and thinks, oh well, at least I've got my batch mates there for me (awwwww, how sweet, don't you think???? :P ). Then, she whips out her iPod which is dangling from the metal bathroom bar, and starts surfing her batch blog ( seriously, it's true, honest :P). She is horrified by what she sees.
"BATCH NOT BONDED"??!!
"NOBODY VISITS THE BLOG"??!!
She almost drops her iPod ( OMG *gasp*).

I would post a link to youtube here but sorry I don't have time! Just wanted to squeeze a quick post. Someday I'll come back and add it :)
