I have nothing worthy of posting. Don't you feel supersuper bored without any major project, even though EYAs are coming? I do. (haha I sound like I'm getting married...)
SO FAST and it's gonna be term 4 already. I think half of the post-EYA activities will be like what subject combi talks or something... and RA tests. :( And... all the RS auditions/selection thingamajigs. haha when is mr oura gonna test us our scales. well...I have nothing much to say I'm essentially posting for the sake of posting. Can you believe we've in band for 1.5 years already?! There only about another 1.8 years to go... :( And then we'll go to JC and then after that we may never ever play our instruments again... unless there's some university band. not that we'll be going to the same uni haha. isn't this sad.

OUR BATCH-BOND!
haha omg now I'm logged in here i think ill be posting pretty frequently like random stuffs. x) hmm anyway i was looking through the archives, like last year's ones. Saw many posts bout our batch being un-bonded and all... and I think our batch has improved GREATLY! am I right? xD
I'm not great at words, but i really really think our batch is so much more bonded now! Like... yay. It's just so plain awesome. so glad at how 'far we have come'... heheh. I think we have bonded a lot through SYF'11 and I'm sure there will be many more opportunities to come like CADENZA!(so excited) SIBF and everything else. and also SYF'13! We must teach our directs and juniors well okay(: Let's continue to be more and more bonded and I really (again, see how GREAT my vocab is) look forward to spend the rest of my RGS life with y'all(:

sorry to break this thread of emotional posts regarding farewell. i can't really express myself well with words so posts like those are not my thing. ( i think you know this by now d: ) but your words do strike a chord with me and i do feel what you guys are feeling too(:

I was particularly inspired by Devni’s post.
Why farewell? We have farewell to thank our directs/the top batch for everything they have done for us. We have farewell to let them know that their job has been done, that we are confident of being Sec 3s, of direct-ing someone else, that they can safely continue the journey and hand over the band to the new top batch. We have farewell because, and perhaps more importantly, to let them touch others’ lives, as much as they have touched ours.
And what it means for us is another start and end. It means we’re going to continue on this journey; stapling Cadenza booklets, SYF, busking, Farewell, auds, and more, keeping in mind what our directs would have wanted us to achieve. It means we’re going to work even harder and strive to make positive changes in others’ lives. It means we’re going to do our best we can for RGSSB so that we won’t let anyone down; our directs, our seniors, teachers, and ourselves. And so that during our farewell we can leave without regrets. J
No, we’re not going to “get damaged”. We’re only going to get stronger. Cause we’re BANDEMONIUM, nothing less.

The Present
Hey batch!
So farewell was yesterday, huh. Haha I went to Si Hui's and Xin Ying's class today just before 3rd Lang, and I started singing randomly. Xin Ying said "sing something else!" because I was singing that particular song for a very longgg time.
So then I realised, when I was about to sing, that Breakaway was 'just so yesterday'.
Sigh.
I remember sitting last year, during Farewell, in the AVA Room, and thinking, 'whoopsies, we have only one more year to go with our directs! Waitttt we actually one more year?! YIPPEEEEE!" and I did a little dance in my head, with my tiny imaginary self.
And now, it's, what, negative one day?
It hit me when I was sitting there yesterday, listening to Sarah's speech, with tears in my eyes. It didn't really sink in until then, and I swear I heard a little shake in Sarah's voice, and I was just sitting there, trying to hide the tear trail on my pinafore, wondering how in the wonderful few hundred million km of Earth Sarah was managing to not burst out into tears.
Then there was that second when at the Foyer, I asked Clara, whose eyes I could barely see because of her squinting, whether she was going to cry. And that understanding I felt when she mumbled, "I'm going to go home and cry."
Well, we all have those emotions. We can't deny it. (Well, maybe some of us don't really feel it, but I'm addressing the majority that do feel it.)
But we can't actually cling onto them forever. We have to let go, eventually. Even though I'm sure during band practice, we'll glance at the spot where our directs used to sit, and sigh.
You know what? We're gonna turn our heads back and focus. Band, at least for the rest of the year, can't be just about how we miss our directs. We still move on. Everyone does.
And for now, this batch is going to make it. Even though we might be fresh players, our journey in rgssb less than halfway experienced, we're gonna link our arms, join the rest of the band, and continue on this voyage - together. Because the only people that are going to be with you throughout these four years are your batch mates.
Not anyone else.
There's only going to be your batchmates who's going to pull you through when you feel like giving up. Yeap, you got it, only your batchmates.
So, Bandemonium, are we going to go through this as a batch? Are we going to be there for each other when the going gets tough? Are we going to be alone, now that our directs are gone for good, or are we going to be a batch in this journey?
That's up to you to decide. For everyone is important, whether in our batch, or in band as a whole. So don't give up, because you're not the only one who's going to get damaged if you do - the whole batch will.
Therefore, I hope that at our batch's farewell, I'm going to count our batch and see at least 16 people. And I really do hope every one of you are going to be in that crowd I count.
